Iron Rations
Low quality foodstuffs that sustain the body but do nothing to aid the spirit. Usually consist of hardtack, jerky and dried fruit.
Standard Rations
Better tasting and more nutritious rations. Required to recover Grit at Lunch. Usually consist of baked bread, cheese, cured meats, nuts, and fresh fruits.
Hard Liquor
Aqua vitae, the water of life. Fuels the spirit at the cost of the body. Quaffed to recover Grit. Can be used as an improvised explosive. Cannot replace water for hydration purposes.
3 swigs per bottle.
Water
All characters are assumed to wear a canteen, which does not fill a slot. In the wilderness, water sources are presumed to be adequate, though may become an issue in particularly arid environments or in multi-day dungeon delves.
More canteens beyond the first take up 1 slot each.
Deprivation
Going without water for 1 day leads to dehydration and a Bane to all Tests. After 3 days without water, a character dies.
Each day without any food reduces maximum Grit by 1, then maximum Flesh, dying at 0 Flesh.
