R: touch; T: oil; D: [sum] hours

A chalice of aromatic oil worth at least 50d is blessed. At the end of the ritual, it is poured onto the Anointed One, conferring [dice] effects on them:

Conquering Warrior +1 Violence
Faithful Shield +1 Defense
Nullifying Ward +1 Boon to Saves vs Magic
Invigorating Balm +1 Grit

These effects stack if chosen multiple times.

At 2 [dice], the anointment may instead be a Last Rite. If the Anointed One dies before the duration ends, their body will self-immolate and burn to ash. This counts as a Funeral buying all their XP.

At 3 [dice], the anointment may instead be a Guest Ceremony. The Anointed One, along with their retinue, will be accepted into the home of any creature as long as they do the host no harm. If the creature is intelligent, this hospitality can be made to extend even beyond the duration of the anointment with a proper exchanging of gifts.

At 4 [dice], the anointment may instead be a Royal Coronation. The Anointed One is perceived by those around them as a legitimate and respected authority. To a peasant they may appear as a lord’s representative, to a scholar as a noted expert in the field, to a thief as a justice of the peace, to a king as a premier dignitary.
